"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.
There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.
With love in Christ.

I don't want to sound like a bible nerd, but (correct me if I'm wrong) the Catholic Church seems based on Works, or Doing what you need to do, to get into heaven. Kind of like Judaism. 'Christianity' by the definition that those who say it is a different religion is defined as trusting Christ alone for heaven and salvation. Again, correct me if I'm wrong. If that is your view, then you are in a group composed of those who are both members of the Roman Catholic church and Christian.

Jesus gave a parable approximately wheat and tares. The wheat are real Christians and the tares are non-Christians. Every church has each, wheat and tares. Unfortunately there are a few church buildings that have plenty of tares and only a few real Christian believers. I think the catholic church is this type of church buildings. We Christians ought to witness to the catholics with love, no longer hate. God can and can use born once more Christians to carry the reality to the catholics who're shopping for God. So shall we exhibit the catholics the real love God has for them.

Some see Catholicism as different because of their use (prayer) to statues of Jesus, Mary and the Saints as idol worship which is far from Christianity.
Perhaps it's the books that a Pope (or two) have written and called Holy...when we know that only the Holy Bible is Holy.
Perhaps it's because they go a priest for confession? (Jesus is my high priest and I pray directly to God the Father, through Jesus.)
Perhaps because Catholics tend to be religious (religious = ceremonious, traditions etc.)
Religion is mans way of trying to reach God.
Relationship is God's way of reaching us, through Jesus Christ.
More people see Catholicism as a religion of it's own.

The Catholic church is a non-Christian cult that teaches dogma that contradicts the Word of God.
Jesus is the head of His church, not any mortal. AS you just said, the Catholic church claims that their pope is the head of Jesus' church. That is a lie.

False Religion . . .
MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: “Across Asia and beyond,” says the journal Asiaweek, “power-hungry leaders are cynically manipulating people’s religious sentiments for their own needs.” As a result, the journal warns: “The world threatens to sink into madness.” A prominent religious leader in the United States declared: “You’ve got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops.” His solution? “Blow them all away in the name of the Lord.” By contrast, the Bible says: “If anyone makes the statement: ‘I love God,’ and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar.” (1 John 4:20) Jesus even said: “Continue to love your enemies.” (Matthew 5:44) How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?
SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul or spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. By means of this teaching, many of these religions exploit their members, charging money to pray for departed souls. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected—an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. (John 11:11-25) Does your religion teach that the soul does not die?
TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: In Western lands, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same-sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?

I agree with you. Catholics were the first Christians but do not get the credit. Some people find it easy to criticize Catholics before getting the facts straight.

Because they do not know any better????
We will spend hours and hours watching TV, will attend DaVinci Code movies and study the fiction, but not allow more than a few minutes to the true word of God.
No wonder so many are led astray!
Peace!
