every few hours my computer "screams like a woman" from the speakers. does anyone know why? and or how i can stop it.... my computer is running fine other than that

its like a wav file of a woman screaming. i know it comes out of the speakers, when i have my headset plugged in it also comes from the headset

There are a couple of possible answers for this issue.
one - Your PC is infected with a virus and the 'screaming' is a symptom of the infection. Run a virus scan (Norton/Mcafee) to check for PUPs.
two - Somebody (possibly you) has accidently setup a sound trigger in AIM/Yahoo or maybe ICQ. Whenever an event occurs the scream is triggered.
Those are the two most obvious to me.

I'm also having the similar problem but in my case there is no scream but some music and then some stupid website pops up..I think both of us computers are HAUNTED by some Ghost of a woman, she sometimes shout from ur computer and sometimes sing from my computer. I think we have to contact some Ghost specialist. What Say?

Are you sure its from the speakers? Unplug them and see if its something else inside your computer making a screeching noise. Mine used to have a bad fan on the video card that would scream like a banshee periodically.

Check your screensaver. As odd as this sounds one of the theme packs includes a woman screaming as well as lightning and thunder etc... There is a box where you can silence the sound on your screensaver and that might help.

i might want to ask your self in case you somewhat did scream cuz no human being changed into round to hearken to you. then i might want to ask your self if a tree fell contained in the woods at the same time as you screamed MANHOLE!!!!!! might want to it make a valid. Then i might want to examine myself in a psychological company for psychological discomfort.
