I am in state of pennsylvania and have question about car insurance. If you are involve in minor colliision and if you call police but it was minor problem you do not report your insurance. Does my insurance goes up ? Does police report to my insurance company? eventhough I did not call my insurance company to fix damage for both car. Thank you!!!!!

Here is what is going to happen in that situation...
Since you called the cops, they will file a report. That will show up on your motor vehicle report as an accident (it wont state who is at fault) Since you didnt call your insurance company and they did not pay out anything, your insurance will NOT go up. They wont even know it happened.
Here is where you may run into a problem...
If you go shopping for new insurance, the insurance company is going to run a motor vehicle report as well as a CLUE report (shows all insurance claims made by you) You CLUE report will be clean since you didnt call your insurance co and there was no payout but your motor vehicle report will show the accident. The insurance company will charge you a penalty for the accident unless you have an accident report proving that it was not your fault.
Short answer: your insurance wont go up but if you go shopping for new insurance they are going to add a surcharge for that accident.

How can your insurance go up if the insurance has no record of the accident and nothing was paid out under your policy? The police don't usually call insurance companies unless it's a serious accident or the person doesn't have proof of insurance at the scene where the report is being taken.

As long as u dont call ur insurance company...they wouldnt know...police dont deal with the companies....they come into the picture only in case of hit and run or comprehensive claims like Theft or Vandalism on the car...u would have to report within 24 hrs to the police.....if its a minor damage my advise would be to fix it and dont call the insurance company...cause any documentation of that could lead to a mark in the driving record of a driver....this in turn hits ur annual premiums

Did you get a ticket? Was there a police report made? If yes to either question, there is a chance your insurance company will have access to the information. Whether or not it will raise your policy would be something only the company would know.

Probably not because the insurance company didn't need to get involved. Although if they look at your driving history the police report will show up.

You are only required to report accidents with over $500.00 damage. Otherwise the insurance company won't care.

if your accident is resolved between two then i would not cause once you report the accident it goes against your good insurance record .A minor accident police ususally dont come they just say repeort and take important informantion from the other.Better to resolve then to pay out the ???
