What a strange question!
Wiki defines religion as "the adherence to codified beliefs and rituals that (generally) involve a faith in a spiritual nature and a study of inherited ancestral traditions, knowledge and wisdom related to understanding human life. "
Atheism doesn't have any beliefs and rituals. It has no faith. And doesn't study inherited traditions etc (of it's own, at least).
So no on all counts, I think.
Atheism (for me) is an ABSENCE of something (a belief in god). I don't believe "god doesn't exist". I just don't have belief!
Why must I believe in 'something else'? What sort of thing? I really don't follow you I'm afraid. Of course I believe in other things. I believe it will hurt if I chop off my toe. But you seem to be suggesting I need something in the place of a belief in god. What for?
Please email me with a bit more detail and I'll try and add to my answer if you like!

Try thinking of atheism as more of a philosophical viewpoint. There aren't rituals or creed or texts or anything of the things that often go along with religion.
What do I believe? Personally, I believe in the importance of community, of joining together to support each other through difficult times and trying to figure out how to live together in ways that support each individual. Religions can be one place where that conversation happens. But that doesn't mean that there's anything we need to label 'God'.

It depends on how you define "religion". Most people define religion as an organized or unified belief system that involves some sort of deity (paraphrase). So, by that definition, no. Atheists, by definition, do not hold any beliefs in a deity. Also, they do not have an organized or unified belief system. They hold one unified belief, that there is no god, but I do not consider that an entire belief system. It all depends on how you define religion.
I say No. Atheism is not a religion.
I'm an atheist by the way.

Calling atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair color.
Otherwise, what do we believe in? Facts, and our understanding of the universe. In essence, we believe in science.
And religious people do too. They just happen to be stuck on the science from 2000 years ago.

If I do not believe in a god this does NOT mean I have to believe in "something else". I can happily exist WITHOUT any faith. I do not need to have answers for everything. I can live with open questions. I prefer an unanswered question instead of an unfounded answer.

It's not a religion; it's the absence of one. I can't speak for all atheists, but I believe in myself, my family, and the laws and theories of the natural world. And I'm always skeptical of claims that have no impirical evidence to back them up.

Atheism is not a religion. Atheism is merely the disbelief in a God or gods.
We do not believe in God, the devil, heaven or hell.
And, for the most part, we're peaceful unless confronted and/or ridiculed.

You'd have to ask the individual Atheist on what we believe. We don't have particular "rules".
I believe that people are generally good... I have no idea if there is an afterlife, but, I highly doubt it. I believe in treating people in the manner they would like to be treated.
