To call Americans that. Please folks, is that your only defense is to get nasty and say that. Isn't illegal immigration about all races, so please stop associating only hispanics to it. When you associate isn't that showing that you are the one being racist and racially profiling ?

Ok, the Boarder did not cross you. ITs been pretty set since the Gadsden Purchase from Mexico in 1853. But thank you KAREN S for your input.

Yes, illegals are illegals. The main problem is that 8 out of 10 illegals ... MEXICAN.
It makes it a whole lot of sense to focus on that one group when dealing with the problem ...mainly because that one groups influence is where all the grief is coming from.
WE don't have illegal Indians running fake ID and doing credit card thefts etc. WE don't have them ruining our hospitals by not paying for their services. Etc.
If there was a broad group, yes we would deal with it differently.
I for one. feel that if we had a more mixed group, there would not be a problem. I don't lose sleep worrhying about one or two or even several thousand illegals sneaking into the USA particularly. I do worry when million upon million and they continure to come, course across our borders. This is a problem ...and it is a problem with Mexicanos. Nothing nasty here... it is simply the truth. We need to deal with it.

You're only called a racist when you are viciously and exclusively attacking a particular race, in this case Hispanics, just because of their race, the color of their skin and the stereotyped images created by the media. If the issue of illegal immigration arises, there has to be an understanding in the culture of the race and experiences they are going though. Some of these people are forced to leave their country because their situation. They have no choice. So understanding their situation and then trying solve it would make race relations easier. As far as solving the illegal immigration problem, the government needs to work with the other country (Mexico, for example) and try to work out the situation.

i think most emphasis is put on the mexicans because they make up a majority of the immigrants to the US and they are the ones seen every day taking jobs, breaking laws ect.
yes i think people should focus more on the gov. that allows these immigrants to come here illegaly and not the illegals in general
also we are called bigots and racist because of what we believe and not everyone believes the same as we do,i guess it is just a way for the name callers to make themselves feel better.
i grew up in south texas and have alot of mexican friends, even though i do not agree with illegal immigration does not make me a bigot

Have you noticed that even the pro-illegals seem to only support Hispanic illegals? Those are the ones they mostly talk about as well until one of us says something about Hispanic illegals. Then they call us racist. Where is all the support for OTH (other than hispanic) illegals? I am against all illegal immigration, but it's still hard to miss the fact that most of the illegals are Hispanic. And anyone who knows me knows I am not racist.

its all really about the attitude, I have called someone a racist but because of the name calling and insults to our culture (hispanics)., there are lots of feelings involved here, and sadly in this site I havent seen so many reasonable folks. since your question looks serious, thats why im answering back at you.
deep inside we agree with you, it should all legal if you want to apply for a residence in another country, and at least for what ive seen they do try to make it by legal ways, but its the american gov who wont take them, so they take their chances anyway cause its that or dying in a country that wont give you whats on your right to survive (like jobs).

When we are called racist and bigots, it is their ploy to shut us up and do nothing. And it is working. soon the anti-American
(republican and democrats) will give amnesty to all those that came in to this country illegally.

I agree. I am not racist just because I want to protect my country and way of life. To me it is not an issue of race but an issue of justice. IMO it is theft when people falsify documents to swindle money (tax dollars) from other people who are working their --- off for it. It is wrong to deprive citizens of better schools, hospitals, roads and other services in order to fund the financial needs for non citizens (to include medical, prisons, schools, extra polices force etc.). I am married to an immigrant (legal) and do not think that it is right for people to circumvent our laws to meet their desires. I waited for my wife to get her citizenship and it did take some time but is it just to allow people who violated our laws to get citizenship as a reward? I don't think it is ever right to reward people who break the law for doing so.

First of all, you may want to call on your fellow classmates to practice what YOU preach, that may be a good start. Secondly, some of us never pull the race card, I never have and yet I continue to see some pretty nasty stuff here. Goes both ways, and I dont think it's gonna stop anytime soon, by either party.
