I had my place broken into a couple of times and I did the exact same thing. Every time I'd close my eyes I imagined what they looked like, what they said to one another while they were robbing me, etc. It took some time but I stopped obsessing. You feel so strange and violated that some stranger was in your home going through your things. I'm sorry this happened to you but it will get better.:)

I'm sorry to heard that.... I would say yes it is normal... you are confused about the situation and am guessing what is running through you head is what would of happened if you where to be in the house at the time someone broke in. If you start to see more symptoms like this I suggest you talk to your doctor about it and he might be able to refer you to a counselor.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. Yes, your feelings are very normal. Your home is the one place where your supposed to feel safe and protected. The person who broke into your house has violated your sense of security. I immediately went and got a security system installed in my house after we were broken in to. It really helped alleviate my feelings of vulnerability. If you just can't shake that feeling, it may be helpful to talk to a professional about it.

I think that this can be somewhat of a traumatizing event that took place. Of course it's normal. If it starts to interfere with your everyday life, then I suggest talking to someone about it just to help you get over it a little. But if it is when your mind is at ease and that thought always pops up, then i suggest probably looking into some meditation to help you relax, or try to invision a happy place for eg, an exotic location, or just happy memories instead to get your mind at ease. Hope this helps a little :)

They have invaded your privacy and tha't is why you feel that way. You feel that your privacy and security has been raped or violated. Now you feel insecure and don't know how to handle it. It is understandable and normal, feeling that way for some time. But if you keep feeling that way after a month, then you should seek professional help.

It's called hypervigilant behavior, possibly post traumatic. Anyway, you're experiencing anxiety from the trauma that you've experienced. Therapists can help you with this anxiety, if it lingers.
