What type of drainage system was on the ark? If rain came for 40 days and 40 nights, and it was enough to cover the whole entire earth, that is some serious rainfall folks! I don't know how much but it is a lot! Not to mention the huge tsunami-size waves that would come from such a storm...

So, how did Noah design the ark to make sure the heavy rains and waves drained off quickly?

“Make for yourself an ark out of wood of a resinous tree. You will make compartments in the ark, and you must cover it inside and outside with tar.” (Genesis 6:14)

It was a huge watertight, three-story, wooden chest, 437 feet long by 73 feet wide by 44 feet high [about 133 meters by 22 meters by 13 meters]. (Genesis 6:15, 16) Such a vessel would have had a capacity similar to that of various present-day cargo vessels. since its only function is watertight and that it stay afloat, it had no rounded bottom, sharp bow, means of propulsion, or equipment for steering. Noah’s ark was simply a rectangular, chestlike vessel.

it meant felling thousands of trees, hauling them to the construction site, and cutting them into planks or beams. It meant building scaffolding, making pins or pegs, obtaining tar for waterproofing, procuring containers and tools, and so on. The work may have required negotiations with merchants and payment for goods and services. It apparently called for skill in carpentry so as to fit the timbers accurately and build an adequately strong structure. And just think—construction probably lasted some 50 or 60 years...

Indeed the bible says it rained that long, but did you know that they were on the ark for 375 days in total. Taking two of every animal on the planet, which probably would also include the fresh water fish and creatures. Do you realize how large the ark would have to be to:
1. hold 2 of EVERY animal on the planet
2. hold the food for all beings on the ark.
3. get rid of the waste and bedding from all the animals on the ark.
Do you know how much two elephants would eat over that period of time? Do you know what 375 days of not walking would do to an elephant (it would actually kill them from foot problems)? What about all the inbreeding that would transpire after with the animals only having a male and female? Amazingly that Noah traveled the globe and never mentioned that it was round, nor Australia, etc? How did he get the animals back to where they needed to get to after? Did you know that the flood story is probably taken from the tale of Gilgamesh? There is also speculation that the flood story came from when the black sea (which use to be a huge valley) and the refilling of the Mediterranean after the ice age? More than 10 cubic miles of water flooded into the black sea per day. The black sea area would have been an original breadbasket with abundant wildlife and vegetation. Oops, but Christians could never believe that, God snapped his fingers and it all just started one day and the big cities were there all populated, etc.
And if God is all powerful and he wanted an ark, why did he just not miracle it? Also, God is a hypocrite since he broke his first commandment in "thou shalt not kill", or it is only ok for him to murder and rape and bad for all others (the rape was with Mary).
And have t love the Christian's points since they use absolutely no logic, just live in fantasy world. Everything they state about God sounds so childish.

there was enough rain if the continents sank... there is a theory of runaway subduction by plate tectonics expert Baumgartner

the rain would roll off the roof... under the roof was a row of windows for air and light see the DVD How well Designed Was Noah's Ark by Werner Gitt

God took care off all those problems silly. You forget about the all powerful God. It didn't even rain on the ark itself and the storm was kept well away from the ark so as not to disturb the animals. Stop trying to leave God out of religion it is just silly the way you try to leave God out of all your assumptions.

It doesn't give exact construction methods but it does tell us that it was coated with pitch, inside and out.

14"Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch."

I'm sure they've thought of their excuses for this one, but where did all that water come from in the first place, if all the water in the world including the polar ice caps melted it could not cover all the mountains, I think its only about 8 metres in fact.
