Do you ever have questions or experience things that conflict with your faith-based conclusions? If so, how do you reconcile these differences? I'm just very curious because it doesn't make sense to me for faith to the main reason for thinking something to be true or explaining life. But it obviously does make sense to many people. Why?

Everyone has times of doubt when faith is weak. Those are the valleys of my life. Even those that say that they have no faith have down days. God hasn't asked me to hold faith without reason He has shown me that He was the author of life through the chirality that all life chemicals require to build. He has shown me through fulfilled prophesy,(See Psalms 22 14-18 for a great one.), that He can make things work to together for good for those willing to except His gift of Life. God never asked for blind faith. You must understand that faith by it's very definition is not proof. It I could prove anything I have faith in, faith would no longer be needed and because mankind is save by faith no one could receive salvation.

Faith is something that has to be instilled in a person because it is believing in something that you cant physically see or touch but that you know in your heart is true and exists. Alot of times when things aren't going your way in life and there are struggles that you cant seem to bear.. that belief that everything will work out and that tomorrow is going to be a better day is the only thing that drives people to press on. Giving up seems like an option at times because struggles when they are upon you seem to big to handle.

at this point is where the strength that faith provides you can be used to reassure yourself that everything will work out for the best (even if it might not always be true). It is the motivation and belief that sometimes helps people get through obstacles. It is being optimistic and believing that everything will work out.

those that lack faith sometimes are at a disadvantage mentally because they worry about the "what-ifs" instead of just being confident that everything will work out as long you do everything in your power and leave the rest up to your faith... like i said sometimes faith is all we have.

Some people that don't have a faith do have trouble seeing how we can put our trust in to something "blindly". But it really isn't. Christians feel a sense that is really inexplicable that comes from putting away everything in there mind that is a distraction, all doubt and being like a child when it comes to faith. Then you have an amazing feeling of seeing that this is really true, truer than anything else in the world. Also faith can't come just by itself there has to most importantly be love in your life and you first have to put away all hate and anger. I know that it seems really confusing but faith in Christ changes your life in a way that is incredible and if you begin to love God than His love goes into you so much that I myself would be willing to die for anyone. That love is a reflection of the love of God so imagine how pure His love for you is. Good luck and I hope that you find the truth.

Love and Blessings,
Elisha

"It doesnt make sense to me for faith to be the main reason for thinking something to be true or explaining life."

First, you--believe it or not---have faith in explaining life's existence because nobody knows with any certainty its origin and every opinion is based off of a faith-based decision. Faith is uniquely a human characteristic that derives after reason has been exhasted and can no longer provide answers and it also serves as to give rise to passion which leads to human expression through art. Simply put, faith is the only thing that makes a human profound. In regard to your questions, yes, I will run into things that seemingly conflict with my faith but under further investigation I find them to be perfectly in line with what I believe. The problem is that people do not work out their faith and they have the type of faith that is easily shaken. We must work out our faith and the inconsistancies because faith does not mean "illogical", however, it does mean "beyond reason". I think you really need to take time and think about how many things you believe out of faith that you take to be truth. You must question everything and truly realize how little humans know about everything. Read about the complete history of science; it's pretty interesting. Many ideas thought to be "facts" then are laughable now. But wait, we have the "facts" now, right? Refer to history.

I think you have a misunderstanding of faith.

Faith is not void of reason and logic. I do have questions that may "conflict" with my Faith. How do I reconcile? Well, I guess it will depend on the question. Sometimes I realize that I need to make adjustments in my beliefs. These are usually very difficult to do, but I think its a part of the growing process.

Other times, I realize that my question may be misplaced, or does not have to answered in order for me to move on in life.

On Yahoo! Answers people try to portray Christians as irrational, illogical, idiots. Unfortunately, here on Yahoo there are many Christians whose theology and actions probably deserve such a label.

If anyone is every "curious" about the Christian faith but has difficulty accepting it because you can't except "certain irrational truths". Please IM me. I would love to discuss it with you. I think you find that I am a patient, open-minded, intellegent Christian.

I guess it depends on your belief system. Yes, I would have to say I have experienced things. My health is going downhill, I am living on half my former wage, and life isn't going well for me right now. I still believe and trust.

I was raised in the seventies so I don't really question why it happened, it just did. Maybe there are lessons that this experience will teach me, so I look for that in each situation.

My sister used to work in a nursing home, and some of the people would know they wouldn't be there the next day...tell her goodbye...say Jesus came to visit, etc.

I have had some personal experiences that I am not ready to share.

I just can't justify the evolution theory. There are too many gaps in it. Adaptations...yes. I can understand how that could happen.

Keep seeking, thinking, and learning. You sound very sincere.

Many things in life take faith. You have faith that when you jump you will come back down to earth, when you step on your brakes your car will stop, etc. This comes from long experience. If you have faith in God, over time your experience will bear that out, and it won't be hard to believe at all.

I believe in Creation and there are a lot of people out there that doesn't believe in it and they try to disprove that. But it's like I not only read about it in the Bible but I see the logical side of it out there in the world. So whatever little doubts that i have is quickly altered because I look in the Bible and I look around in the world at what's going on and I see that only someone really powerful could have done such a thing.

Faith in many cases (not all) can also be translated as trust. Do 'we' christians trust Jesus to do things that are different than the natural eye sees? Hopefully, the answer for christians is Yes.

Human is composed of recommendations and count number number. And recommendations is the position faith lies. faith supplies the guy the favor to proceed. One does not must be religious to trust. yet religions provide a a lot less stressful thanks to concentration one's faith and a ideal view to face one's existence. for example: A dirty bread lies in the front of a starved guy. it is real that the bread can save the guy. yet will he devour it? *without faith, he may imagine, "what's the use for ingesting a bread tastes like airborne dirt and mud? nonetheless gonna sense the starvation, nonetheless gonna die from ravenous the following day besides..." He might want to probable basically flow to discover an a lot less stressful thanks to kill himself earlier taking yet another day of suffering. *yet with faith, the guy might want to take the bread and believe that he will discover better nutrition the following day. for my section, I see no conflict between faith and technology (good judgment and information). Afterall, technology would not explains/proves each and everything, alongside with life of God. basically, faith is what drives human beings to seek truths, it is the position the spirit of technology lies. If technology does proves fact on something, in spite of one insists isn't faith anymore yet conceitedness.
