The thing about dairy produce is that it changes, the tastes just get better or worse according to your palate. Some people really like ripe (old) cheese and some like it young and fresh. Cheese and yoghurt, in my opinion, get better with age. Milk is different; you can still drink milk when separated, but probably not good in tea and coffee. Its all a question of taste.

You're taking your chances in the end, it has more to do with how it was kept while expiring. BUT... cream probably lasts longer than milk past it's date if kept cool and sealed.

I always keep it around as long as possible till my wife throws it out on me.

Expiration dates are more of a "recommended used by" date. There's no way to determine an exact date in the future when something will spoil. If it has not spoiled yet, go ahead and drink it! Or add it to something, I wouldn't expect you to DRINK half and half.

have you ever examine the climate on a carton of a million/2 n a million/2 interior the diary section? this is not a million/2 something, this is in simple terms some watered down paste. i'm going to guess you will desire to bypass on your community dairy and that they had sell you a fifty 5 gallon drum of paste to equipment your way. i admire my whipping cream clean off the teat of a pals cow while available. I each so often positioned a sprint coffee in my cream to colour it and flavor it a sprint. i've got have been given super genes, no heart disease, ulcers, weight problems or diabetes in my kinfolk, I consume what i elect while i elect that's often and correctly. Yes, though it m,ay not taste the same.
For most digestions even sour milk/cream is quite harmless.
I use it to make fab scones, too.

No, there is a reason for the expiration date.

Quick sniff - if it smells OK - it is 99% OK.

There is a distinct (you'll know) smell bad / hint of an odour when they 'go off'. It's pretty much a given that if not - it's OK.
