To protect the jar place a small rack (like a cooling rack) in a large pot. Put the honey jar on the rack, and fill the pot with enough water to come up the honey jar at least halfway. Put the pot on your stove burner on a low setting, and allow the water to simmer.

I buy honey by the gallon, and it takes about an hour or two for me to do this. Microwaving honey heats it too quickly, and the crystals will only reform.

Honey is one product that never spoils, its good forever. When it crystallizes just put it in the microwave and heat it up and it will be just like new. You can do this over and over..... if in a few months it gets crystallized again.

Sit it in a pan of water on low heat, may take an hour or two but it will return to the honey state. I store quarts of honey in a cold root cellar and do that all the time... works well.

If you have all natural honey (unfiltered) then you simply place the closed jar in a bowl of warm (to hot) water. If you let it sit a while it will be "normal" again.

Is it pure authentic honey? If so, you can place the container in a pot or bowl of hot water until it returns to its liquid state. DONOT microwave it! It may return it to its liquid state but it will take in the harmful effects of the microwave.

After reading the comments, I put mine in hot water on the stove. Mine was in a glass jar, so I didn't boil the water, just made it and kept it hot. It takes a while, but the honey clears up like new. Be aware that on my jars the lid loosened up as the honey got soft. I had mine leaning in a pot. Not a big deal, but don't forget to tighten the lid a few times while it's soaking.
