Are you sure that you weren't ordered to take a breathalyzer or chemical test at any time at the request of any law enforcement or probation officer? That's a standard term of probation, no matter what your offense was.
Heck, it's in the standard terms and conditions for juveniles who get placed on probation for truancy issues.

Part of the reason for probation is so somebody (your PO) can watch/supervise what you are doing. Drug testing is a way for them to feel comfortable that you are not getting into possible trouble.
The PO probably has some authority to adjust the terms of your probation. I think they can require you take the drug test. If you fail - you might get a warning - or - you could lose your probation and be taken in to serve time.

Ask your PO. Drug testing is a standard condition of probation in my state, no matter what your offense. Also, speaking for my state, and I would think it is true for all states, the PO cannot impose conditions on you that are not in the court order.
Do your conditions require that you cooperate with your officer?
I don't know, but if they do, then he may be able to expect you to submit to a drug test. Especially if the terms of your probation prohibit drug use, as they usually do.
That being said, if I were you, I would approach this very carefully. PO's, like everyone else, will treat you with respect, only if you do the same.
The last thing you want to do is to get into a p**sing contest with your PO.

Why are you on probation?
Are you out on licence from prison?
If so was your offence drug related?
If the probation service are asking you for a drug test, take it mate cos they'll have you banged up if u refuse.

If it's not part of your probation, then what are you talking about? But if they ask you to do one, and your refuse, they can violate you immediately. Lock you up--depending on your original charges you may have to stay without bond until your court date.
Don't do drugs and you have no problems.

xmmm thats unusual..for in Mississippi ones on probation are subject to random drug screening.....a positive one revokes the probation and they are sent to jail or prison to serve their time out....or given one more chance...then if they fail that 2nd screening they do.....stay clean and you won't have to worry about having to take one or not

If it is not part of your probation, I don't see how they can force you to take one. However, if you have nothing to hide, I'd take it and prove innocence.

if it`s not in your court order then no you dont have to take one, but if you where charged drug possession with intent to deal or use then yes, what was your charge anyway?
