I think olive oil is actually considered to be the best oil as far as health benefits are concerned. Both oils are healthy for some of the same reasons. They are high in mono-unsaturated fatty acids and are linked to higher levels of the 'good' cholesterol, HDL, and lower levels of LDL, the 'bad' cholesterol. Here's more:
Both Canola Oil and Olive Oil are considered as two of the best oils for health conscious consumers because
of their high level of monounsaturated fatty acid, which helps
to reduce the LDL cholesterol (generally known as the bad
cholesterol) in the blood. Food with high levels of unsaturated
fatty acid are known to help lower the risk of coronary and
cardiovascular diseases. In addition, olive oil is known to
be rich in thw antioxidants Vitamin E as well as Chlorophyll.
Canola oil has a unique blend of fatty acids that provide health benefits, especially for people at risk of heart disease and other chronic diseases.
Plus, its mild flavour makes it ideal for baking, braising and
frying and for use in salad dressing, sauces and baked
goods.
The American Cancer Society has made claims that canola oil is linked to some specific health problems but studies by other groups have either been inconclusive or refuted their claims.
As always, we have to make the final decision on what we eat.

Canola is considered a healthy oil because
1) It is a largely monosaturate oil and that means that it is good for the fat levels in your blood.
2) It his relatively little taste of its own to impart into the food
3) It has a higher smoking point than most monosaturates and allows healthier frying with less absorption of fat into the food
4) It is cheaper and easier to obtain than many other oils
5) Even though peanut oil shouldn't cause allergic reactions, it has been suggested that it can and so canola oil offers a safer alternative for people with groundnut allergies
6) It is a lighter oil than olive oil which is also a very healthy monosaturate and can be less heavy on the GI tract
All heavily monosaturated oils can absorb flavors from their surroundings and go bad quickly unless capped tightly or used quickly. Don't buy the gallon size unless you fry a lot or you plan to cook for the army
Common Monosaturates include Peanut oil, Olive oil, Canola oil, Grapeseed oil, Avacado oil, and Walnut oil.

Canola oil is actually toxic. It is short for Canadian oil. Canola oil is rapeseed oil. Rapeseed oil is toxic because it attacks the thyroid.
