I don't understand why Americans want illegal immigrants to quit their low paying jobs. Let's stick with reality here, those illegal immigrants are here because it's OUR fault that they are here. We should all be accountable for what's going on in our country.

And these illegal immigrants are not going to be deported, and you know it, so would you rather have them working or be bums in our country?

People who say it's not our fault are dreaming. It's not only these past couple of years that illegals have come to our country. They've been doing it for many years and no one gave a sniff then.

It's OUR fault that the illegal alien criminals come here? Go jump in a lake. It's not my fault. They are breaking the law and shouldn't get any benefits for doing so.

Nail the employers so the job market dries up. Deport them so that Americans can get the jobs that they deserve, instead of the illegals.

BTW, they are not "illegal immigrants." Immigrant means they are working to become citizens. These criminals that are breaking our laws are only waiting for congress to give them amnesty. They are not "immigrating" the right way.

I'm sorry, did you just say it's OUR fault that they are here? What planet are you living on sweetie? I don't want anyone to be a bum anywhere, but it just so happens that that's just not a possibility. I've worked with, and befriended many an illegal alien, and I have the utmost respect for those with a good work ethic, and a sense of gratitude for their situation. That isn't the case for all of immigration, now is it sweetie? I would prefer it if the criminals, and societal leeches that comprise much of the immigrants in this country would go be worthless in their own country. So before you make sweeping generalizations about what we may or may not want, get your facts straight.

If you look at the facts, some americans are to blame for the reason Mexicans are coming. Years ago, in the trade agreement, many american businesses sent their factories to the North side of Mexico, creating lots of polution. This made people here be a ble to buy shoes for $10, while the people south of the border sufer through polution. It's ovious that their gonna come here! Won't you go somewhere to try to find a better job?! And ppl who say they took their jobs, are just lazy! I bet if they actually whent out they would find a job! Forchenetly for illegals, most americans have a high standard of living, and they would rather work in a fancy office building, instead of doing the jobs mexivans will do!

How can you say that it's OUR fault that they are here...hmmm...Mexico's poor economy...and the US's great economy....I see it now...It's our fault because we're successful...

That's pure B.S. and you should know it...

I would rather have our government enforce the laws they already have on the books, versus them being here at all.

They have no respect for our laws, our sovereignty, and most of all the American people.

Added 01/11/2007:

Is it our fault that Mexico's economy is in the toilet? NO.

Is it our fault that the Mexican government is as corrupt as it is? NO.

Are we responsible for the choices that an individual from another country makes when he or she crosses our border illegally, when they have the choice of coming here legally? NO.

I want a specific explanation from you. What makes you believe that it's somehow OUR fault that we have this illegal immigration issue?

Yes...everyone knows it's been going on forever...so what...previous generations have dropped the ball time and again...our generation has finally stepped up to the plate, and all of the sudden there's controversy because some folks don't mind the status-quo despite our national security issues.

It really doesn't matter wether they are bums or illegal aliens, immigrants or organisms. They are apparently messing the USA up on many different levels.
If you have sex with someone you know has aids and don't use a condom, and then you get AIDs, who's fault is it?
America is being foolish. We could have it all but instead we are being forced to take the bad with the good.
Trusting our American government to do the right thing is a big mistake these days. America needs to rise up and start beating on the reps and the Pres. to use our tax dollars to protect us, serve us and make way for a future of opportunity ...not loss and degradation.

ya lets have them leave so the economy collapses cause no one wants to do those shoddy jobs that they're doing...

The reality is that illegal immigrants are here and aren't going anywhere. Do criminal checks on all of them and ensure that they're not running away from the Law in their home country, if they are then deport them but if they're here for a better future for their children, then let them stay!

There is lots of menial jobs that illegals are donig that if they're all removed, where do you think these jobs and the buying power those jobs give will go to?? THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES. Outsourcing must be stopped and thats a much bigger threat to American security and economy then terrorism or illegal migrants

I have a Christian love for people. I didnt think one way or the other about illegal Mexicans. or legal ones. but I moved to a neighborhood years ago and the Mexicans have about taken over the street and they throw there trash in the road. both sides put there trash cans in my yard to be picked up. till I stopped them,. the one side of my property neighbors run over my plants in my yard, till I stopped them..one night they came and took my yard chairs off when they had a party .knocked over potted plants threw garbage every where.one pack of boys blew there horn at me and called me trash man while I picked up there trash from the street.I chased them down and had a long word with them.one neighbor stole my dog when he got out and put him in a large cage in there back yard and I heard it whining and I went over and it was hanging from a chain in the cage.all the other neighbors have story's of there own.about them.they also park there cars in front of my driveway.I told them to stop it. then I begain calling the law. I gave a little girl next door a nice toy and the only thing the mother said was , were taking over the whole street!!.I wave to them. and they just look and tell people I must be weird,I am a decent mannerly Southerner that's about had it with these trashy people..I told the neighbors on one side if they kept it up I am getting out my guns and friends together and were having a war.they settled down. Its way past time the government rounded up the illegals and sent them back home. and put up a very high and very long empenetrable wall to keep them out.if they would act ok it would be different. They commit a lot of crime and are nasty. they should go.

I would rather have them working. All of a sudden people are complaining about immigrants and it's been going on for years. Did the government not think that so many would be here now. They should have done something along time ago.

it's all about supply and demand.

if the demand is there for illegal immigrants in this country, then they will keep coming to fulfill those demands.

i understand the law and i understand the word illegal.

for this 'problem' to go away, we as an american society need to remove the demand for them. but we will have to also be willing to pay for the gap of millions and millions and millions of dollars that they put into society.

this means we will have to pay more for our food - do you think an american will want to pick fruits or vegetables for the pennies that they do? if the farmers are going to have to pay americans more to pick fruits, you and i are going to have to pay more too.

at the small mom and pops restaurants ... will you be willing pay the prices of a larger restaurant for a hamburger?

will businesses want to pay more for maid and cleaning services. that's only going to add more to the prices that they charge us.

there was a study that showed that the illegal population actually contributed more to the gdp than they took. so factually, they are contributing and not taking away from society.

illegal as it may be ... there's a niche that they fill and we as a country are not going to be willing to pay the cost of loosing their role in our economy.

I don't want anyone to be a bum, but they shouldn't be here in the first place. America has ways to become a LEGAL immigrant and everyone should use those ways. Those that don't are spitting in the face of those that did.

Also, why is it our fault that they are here? Did we run over the borders, kidnap them and drag them kicking and screaming back with us? No, we did not. It is not our fault that things are so bad in their home country that they want to leave. Their countries should work to make things better so people don't want to leave.
