I've heard a lot of myths about lighter colored sodas being "better"/"healthier" for your internal body versus darker colored sodas. Can anybody give me more info?

As a rule they are not, exceptions may be found.
Besides the amount of sugar pH is an important factor to consider in soda as it greatly expounds the corrosive effects of the sugar upon teeth. The high acid level also leaches calcium from bones contributing to osteoporosis. Many lighter sodas have higher pH levels than the darker ones.

Nope. All the major sodas are based off high fructose corn syrup now instead of the original cane sugar, which was better for you. Many organic sodas or smaller companies still use cane sugar, but they tend to be more expensive. Soda should not be something to drink daily, but should be a treat. Water is a much healthier alternative.

It really depends on what you are asking. Some of the "Darker" soda's contain caffeine and carbonation, which some view as bad for you. If you are referring to calories then, they can be very similar regardless of the "color", as often time color is just dyes that are added. There is no clear cut better then the other scenario here, it has to bee taken on a case by case basis. Is Sprite better then coke? Less carbonation, Less caffeine, but the same amount of calories. etc..

Well, there was a study in the early 80s that seemed to indicate that lighter ones were healthier but it was later disputed and proved wrong.

That's when both pepsi and coke came out with clear versions of their sodas
Remember Pepsi Clear???
It disappeared after it didnt sell well and the study was disproved.

Check the nutrition list on the soda. No real difference.

Did a test once - and found that sprite dissolved more enamel on a baby tooth than coke...

So it really depends on what you like to drink.

are you kidding me? no soda is healthy.

too much sugar too much caffiene too much triglycerides and carbs.

empty calories also.. you get a ton of calories and no nutrition.

stick with fresh juices and the old stand by.. water.

all sodas will make your arteries harden also with too much consumption for long periods of time and can make it hard to reduce the bad cholesterol in your system.
