Sometimes when I'm driving I feel like the bottom of my car is going to fall out and I'll get killed, I imagine it all the time. My heart starts racing (even when I'm the passenger sometimes) because I get so anxious about it. Its not all the time, but a lot of the time this happens. One time I had to pull over like 8 times on a 2 hour drive so I would stop freaking out. I know I might have anxiety, and right now I'm on Wellbutrin SR for depression too, but how in the heck do I stop getting like this? Its really debilitating sometimes!

Yes I do, although not as intense as you described. I've been having these feelings while driving for several months, & not sure why on earth they started. I have this general uneasiness while I'm driving, & feel overly cautious about something 'bad' happening. They get worse in traffic, or a crowded subway, & sometimes it's unbearable when I can't breathe & I feel dizzy. Some people have told me it's a slight case of claustrophobia. I get that overwhelming feeling like I have to 'escape' right then & there. To lessen the feelings, I have to make sure I eat plenty of food, have water on hand, & avoid caffeine (which is also making me irritable!!). I also have to talk myself out of it, which helps. Even if the moment seems overbearing, talking yourself out of it WILL help you some. I was really worried if it would be debilitating too, but since I've become aware of why things are happening & how to cope with them, it's become so much easier. I hope you find some good help fast! Best of luck.

You have a form of obsessive compulsive disorder which is an anxiety disorder that includes Tourette syndrome (tics), ADHD, etc.

I once knew someone who thought he had always run over someone and had to go back and forth checking the road for a body, underneath the car, etc.

Just about the only treatment is an antidepressant. Try another one. I have had luck with Cymbalta. Or, you might try Strattera, a new medicine for ADHD. It is nonamphetamine.

Wow, u need to relax and think differently.
Just think when u get in a car u will get there and get back home safely.
Get these negatives thoughts out of the brain or it may happen.
Sing a good song in your mind to keep from such thoughts.

I have gotten this feeling since I was a child. Maybe it was the rusty floor boards in my dad's old car. I would speak to a therapist or a doctor about it.

Sounds like an anxiety disorder. See a Psychiatrist for proper meds...

You need to discuss this with your doctor. You know when you take the time to examine this in a logical manner that you are in virtually no danger of this happening. Clearly, your medication needs to be adjusted.
