Keep it simple with close friends and family. Too much is overwhelming for a 1 yr old. Keep the food simple too. The baby isn't going to know any better. Good luck. I just did this a few months ago for the first time :)

Take it from me I spent hella money on my sons 1st birthday. Thinking I had to go all out because I'm a party planner. It ended with him falling asleep and my guest taking pictures of him crashed out. Stick to the basics but still have some kind of theme. That way it helps the few guest you do have know what there in for. Best of luck.

Don't go overboard & keep it short. She is too young for organized games, and will get overwhelmed if it's too long or too big. All she needs is balloons, a piece of cake to destroy and some presents (to mostly play with the wrapping paper).

Even at two, elaborate birthday parties aren't the best ones!

I have three of my own and all were oblivious to their first birthday. But not to the cake. Invite some friends, get her some minor presents. And as adults just enjoy the time together. Your daughter will be just fine.

A small family gathering is fine. The child does not know any better. Make some sandwiches, get a cake, put up balloons and take pictures.

Very simple with just family----she's only one will never remember this day. Wait til she's older to do a big party that she'll get something out of it.

our 3 kids were oblivious to thier first party. I'd say plan for adult oriented stuff. Not r rated or anything. Maybe get some other one year olds to come.
