You should not pray to Jesus unless you know him to be the Creator - The Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To pray to Jesus whilst believing him to be created by God would be polytheism - the worship of more than one God. That is outrightly condemned in Holy Scripture. Even Jesus when on earth quoted that Scripture to the devil who was tempting him to sin. So, if Jesus knows and teaches that to worship anyone/anything other than the Creator is sin, yet he accepts the prayers and worship of people, there can only be one conclusion: either Jesus was mad, or bad, or he is God.

In The Bible he told his followers, "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it... If you have seen me, you have seen the Father... I and the Father are one... Before Abraham was, I Am... The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things... I, when I am lifted up, will draw all men to myself... These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." Those are a small sample of the claims of Christ. In Hebrews chapter 1 we are told that all God's angels worship the risen Christ, and in Revelation he shares the same throne as God, with all the heavenly throngs falling down before God AND Christ, for they are not TWO Gods, but the ONE and ONLY God.

Please read the New Testament for yourself and ask God to reveal who Jesus is to you by the power of God the Holy Spirit. May you be richly blessed in so doing.

You should pray to God in the name of Jesus...

At the beginning of the model prayer, Jesus instructed his hearers: “You must pray, then, this way: ‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.’” (Matthew 6:9-13) Jesus was on earth telling us to pray to his Father...in heaven.

We know that Jesus is the way to God and so we ask our prayer in his name. “Whatever it is that you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:6, 13, 14)

You should pray to Jesus Christ who IS God. The Word and the Father Creator are one with the Spirit. All eternal, past, present, and future. The Messiah is NOT created.
Jesus is THE prophet, priest, and KING. He will rule forever, and those who put their trust in him as their suffering substitutionary sacrifice [wounded, crucified, dead, buried, and resurrected] LORD will reign with Him for a thousand years, and fellowship forever in the New Jerusalem!

Jesus talks to god for us because God cannot look upon sin. Either way though, I think he hears your prayers. I have been a christian for a long time now and I still don't understand how God and Jesus are one. I don't think anyone knows for sure. I guess we will have to wait and see

I as an LDS member, pray to my Heavenly Father and end the prayer "in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
There is a primary song that I love:

I Kneel to Pray

I kneel to pray, everyday.
I speak with Heavenly Father
He hears and answers me
When I pray in faith.

I begin by saying "Dear Heavenly Father"
I thank him for blessings he sends
then humbly I ask him for things that I need
"In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

They are not the same. Jesus was a man and always will be. Their is only one God. If you compare a man to God then thats BAD. That is worshiping men like an idol worshiper pretty much. Why would you have to pray to anyone to talk to God. That is like Catholics praying to a priest to talk to God for them, weird.

You aren't suppose to pray to Jesus. Jesus told us specifically to pray to God and only to God.

Way to go Doug, confuse anyone lately?
