Bottom line, you can't. Find the original title, or contact the owner and ask him to get a duplicate title for you. You will have to pay his costs to do so of course. When (or if) you get the duplicate title, try not to lose it again.

Unless the car has been considered totalled by an insurance company, it wont have a salvaged title. If you lost the original, get the former owner to write up a bill of sale and take it to your dmv. All you will have to do is pay for tnot regestering the vehicle within the allotted time which is usually within 45 days. You will need to show proof of insurance too. You will have to pay to have the title switched over into your name which is not expensive at all. They may give you the option of having your title printed right then or wait and let them mail it to you. Of course if you let them mail it it's cheaper for you. Good Luck!

The person who sold you the truck needs to get a duplicate copy of the title and sign it over to you. It's the only way.

you are on the right track ---- phone or go to the DMV in your state and talk to then -- they will help you if you have a reciept for the purchase even better so they can see that you are trying to live by the rules..... this is the only way to get it corrected.. unless you can go back and get the seller to give you a copy of the sale........

Contact your department of motor vehicles they should be able to get you the right forms or if you have an independent license facility they should also be able to help. There will probably be some cost involved either way
