One possibility - It is their way of rebelling against God. Some of them could be very near to His calling, much nearer than the person who cares nothing for God.

I presume you mean the Q&As from non-believers, rather than the believers whose questions make a mockery of religion through hateful bigotry?
It seems to me that there are an equal number of sensible, thought out answers to daft ones.
But quite often the tone of the answer appears to reflect that of the question. I think the more dogmatic the question, the more so the answers.

If some one dissed kids there would be a huge upheaval of abuse reports, but religion is one of those things that is strictly an opinion and some people have to vent their stupidity some place. If not here then some where on the street where they run a chance of getting knifed for being so hateful and stupid. But with luck we can police it a bit.

It generates a ton of attention. People will do anything for attention. It makes us all feel a sense of purpose or something...

I don't personally mock religion, although I am an atheist. It's a vicious circle. When people get told by a believer that they are immoral, angry, pathetic (as you say yourself), get preached at and all that jazz, it pisses us off. Stop doing that and maybe you wouldn't get angry responses.
Patrick A is a fabulous example of what I'm talking about. Do you really believe that an atheist is without love? Are you that blinkered?

Dunno. Why do Christians answer questions specifically directed at Pagans and Wiccans by saying things like, "I pray that you'll find Jesus," "Your path is of the Devil" and "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live"?
Because if you're a Wiccan or a Pagan you cannot ask a question on this forum without receiving those three comments and many, many more from Christians whose opinion is rarely asked.

Why are you so disturbed by people questioning your religion?
You should be asking what's wrong with yourself, rather than demanding political correctness out of the rest of us. If you can't behave yourself in public, you probably shouldn't come to a public forum.

People are defendant against those who bash others. There's even gay discussions that pop up here. That has nothing to do with religion.

Religion is a parody of itself. All we non-believers are doing is holding up a mirror.
