My older brother who never holds a job for long has always asked me for financial help or asked to stay at my house. He does nothing to work towards his future and sits in front of the tv all day long. This problem has been ongoing for a long time. I am tired of him depending on me just cause he does not want to work. Yet I feel guilty if he has no where to go...I know he is responsible for how his life, in what words can I tell him how unfair it is for him to depend on me. He is a grown man already and makes me think he will never get it together.

He is being very lazy and selfish. He needs professional help. As long as you let him he will take advantage of you. Sure he's your brother but you have to do what's best for both of you. Talk to him what's he afraid of. He needs to get a job. Get him to read some good books to motivate himself. Give him a deadline. Something he has to work towards. Give him some slack and if he doesn't make an effort, kick him out. He will thank you for it. He needs a swift kick in the a-rse. Give it to him with love.

It's hard to refuse your brother, I know. But try to fake a rough financial period. Explain him that you can't even afford to pay for your own self and if he won't get a job, you will be bound to take action. Make a list with your income and expenses (modified of course) and make him understand that you can't support him unless he contributes.

it's time for some tuff love. Cut him loose so he'll stand on his own 2 feet. He'll never grow up with you always bailing him out. He isn't your responsibility. Besides, you can't save someone from themselves.
