In the Infantry of the USMC, the way Ive heard it, most Infantry jobs carry around and help the other MOS's when theyre not in combat. Like riflemen carrying and helping set up machine guns w/ the Machine Gunner and that kind of thing. And the riflemen having to help maintain the machine gun while in combat and all that.
Having said that, what other responsiblilties does the MOS 0351 (Assaultman in the USMC) have besides maintaining, carrying around, and operating the SMAW?

In the USMC Infantry, when not in combat, we trained. We went to the field and practiced patrolling, CQB, ambushes, peels, and then we cleaned our weapons. We cleaned them so clean that you could perform surgery with them. AS an 0311, we did not help the machine gunners carry their weapons because there were 3 of them to do it, we did, however, carry all the extra gear.
