Aside from getting a piercing or a tattoo, what else can you do to yourself to show a rebellious side?

My tattoos and piercings were done to be a rebellious statement. My parents, though not thrilled understood it was my body and my life choices and have openly accepted who I am. My tattoos hold meaning and while my piercings may not have extreme emotional value, they hold a high physically pleasing quality and that is why I'm a piercer too.

Rebels go against all rules and standards of common society and I am not like that. If you think that people with tattoos are rebels, you are often mislead. Yes there are tons of kids who do things just to stir up trouble and look tough, but for a good majority, there is a passion and meaning behind body modification.

If you want to be a rebel, get some hardcore tattoos that don't really mean anything to you and you'll probably want to start acting 'bada*s' and tough. Pick up smoking or some extreme drug habit while you're at it. Get your hair cut, spike it and dye it funky colors. Wear 80's punk clothing and join and band and start skateboarding. I'm sure I missed some other stereotypical qualities, but its a good start.

I think that if you're getting tattoos to be rebellious, you're doing it for the wrong reason....I've also found that alot of the people that did it for rebellion regret it later because it's not done out of thought and meaning, but it's permanent...and they end up with some design on them that they don't want in the future. It's done to portray an image that they want to project moreso.

Rebellion can stem from any different angle - whether it's style of dress, political thoughts, even type of car...

If you tattoo or pierce to look cool and rebellious...makes you look kind of dumb.

Recycle your trash, because it seems like nobody is doing that. Maybe learn some manners and behave like a civilized person. Read the newspaper and magazines on current events. Question authority and vote in 2008.

The most rebellous thing to do would be to get a college degree and land a job and not getting some girl pregnant and ending up on welfare.

If you could do these things you will be a real rebel, because I've seen only 2 or 3 guys do this.

You can jump out of a window; you can go to wedding reception naked; you can laugh as loud as you can during a funeral service...you can do all these NICE things and more, to show that you are a rebellious sort of person.

Thats really silly. Why would you want to bother? There is no need to be rebellious and its especially stupid if you are actually planning to be so. Anyway, peircing and tatoos arent rebellious, they're just something you choose to do. If you want to mess up your body with holes and ink, then go for it but its your own choice. Why do you feel the need to rebel?....

not everybody gets tattoos and peircings to "be rebellious". it really is annoying to know that so many people consider tattoos to be a sign of rebellion. who am i rebelling against? i am 25 and married. i love tattoos for the art that they are.

I would go to the hair dresser and get my hair cut off or colored a different color because that isnt permanent or hurting your body in any way. And believe it or not it does make you feel better.

there's lots of other body modification techniques out there... hair dye, scarification, etc...

however, most people who get them aren't doing it to be "rebellious"... they're doing it to decorate their bodies in ways that they see as beautiful.

maybe you should just stick to odd clothing.
