My brother and his wife did the same thing. my sister in law wore her wedding dress again. As a few people could not make to the big day. It helped the oaps who wanted pictures of the special couple who only went to the party to capture a special moment. Also the bride loved feeling like a princess again and it is your moment. If you feel comfy on the day in your dress and you can dance and mingle with out any problems then go for it. This occasion is only going to happen once. Enjoy being the centre of attention.

I think it might be a bit much to wear your wedding dress at the party - people can just see you in the photos. Just get a nice dressy outfit for the party - something from an obscure shop, so that you ensure no one else has the same outfit.
Apparently their is a really nice restaurant at Gretna Green - dead posh. Why not book the family in their for their tea and then you can keep the dress on a bit longer? I just live up the road - that's how I know.
PS. Don't expect a big long ceremony at Gretna Green - they churn out weddings like it's a wedding factory. They'll usher you in and usher you back out again just as quickly.
Good luck with the wedding anyway - long may your marriage last.

Depends on your dress. If you have a big formal gown, I'd say absolutely not. If you're wearing something simple, it might be appropriate. Since you're having a small ceremony, I assume your dress is somewhat more understated/simple than it would be if you were having a huge church wedding. Remember though, it's YOUR big day. That might be the only time you get to wear that wedding gown where everyone can see it. If you're comfortable wearing the gown, even if you've got on a huge tiara and a train, I say go for it. If you're worried about looking like Bridezilla, find a second outfit. Even brides who have their reception immediately after their wedding sometimes opt for something more comfortable. A shorter dress, or a suit would probably be the most appropriate. Hope this helps. Congratulations!

Yes. The fact that your wedding reception is not immediatley after the wedding doesn't alter anything. You wear the same on both occasions. Gretna's a great place to get married. Good luck!

Where something fun and casual but at the actual wedding make sure to get some great pictures ( with a photographer or not ) and have them enlarged and put them around the party, that way everyone else can see how beautiful you were!!!!

Me and my stay in boyfriend are having the comparable themes authentic now. i will start up receiving my coverage with the aid of my artwork and his coverage isn't in all probability that stable yet he has a pintched nerve in his neck, plus his understanding enamel are relatively bothering him. We entertained the belief of in simple terms getting married interior the courthouse and having a ceremony down the line, yet i've got constantly dreamed of my wedding ceremony day and me being all dressed up and would't bypass with the aid of with it. i think of it may be sorta cheesy to positioned on the gown to the reception on account which you have already been married 6 months and wearing a marriage gown..?? I dunno in simple terms sounds strange..Knew a woman that had went away to Flordia and have been given married and got here back and had the reception 2 months later and wore her gown..in simple terms wasn't the comparable?...See in case you may sell the gown on E-bay.

I think you should wear another beautiful dress for your party. Many brides wear one gown for the ceremony and another for the reception and even a third for the going away.
