Observe him and study him a bit. Then try to make eye contact and smile. Depending on the setting or situation you might want to make a comment about what he is doing. For example, if in a party setting, you see that he seems to be enjoying the music. You might want to make a comment about the song or music genre in general. Ask him what kind of music he likes, etc. I find that if you become a student of that person you will not have any trouble coming up with an opening to engage him in conversation. Good luck!

Just be sincere. Try not to sound phony or as if you've rehearsed what you're gonna say. Just be yourself. If that isn't good enough for him, you can be sure it'll suit somebody else on down the line.

If you are attracted to this guy, don't beat around the bush...go up to him and just flat out tell him that you saw him and wanted to say hi that you didn't want him to get away without saying something because you "felt something". Just be truthful.

Find a way to bump in to him and get his attention and say O I'm SORRY WITH A SIMPLE LAUGH AND SMILE and start from their if he smiles compliment his great teeth he'll give in from there.

If he acts confused and asks, "What coffee?"
Say "The one you are going to buy me at Starbucks, and I can get you one, too!"
