I Have A Dell Dimension 5150 With A Ati Radeon x300 SE 128mb Videocard And A 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 Processor And A 160 GB Harddrive And 512 Mb Ram... Its Still Kinda Laggish Would Adding More Memory Help Or Is My Video Card Not Big Enough?? Its Fine For The Part But When Zooming It Kinda Laggs,,, Not Background Task Running At All I Have The Cd Not The Dvd.. I Also Installed Nightlife Which On Made It 15% Slower

I would say that you probably need to upgrade both. I am an avid Sims 2 player and also have a Dell 5150. I can tell you from experience that you are going to want to have at least 1 GB ram, although while your upgrading you may as well do 2 GB as that is what they are reccomending for Windows Vista. Also your video card should probably be upgraded. Sims 2 is not terribly taxing to a graphics card so look for one in the $100-$150 range with at least 256 MB ram. If you are going to be doing any heavy gaming as well, you will want to get a better video card than that, but this is what my 5150 has and it runs the sims perfectly.

i will tell you what helps me: shutting down your internet connection, if you dont shut it down before you play you will still have internet processes going on in the background on your computer which will slow it somewhat
