Expect to pay at least $120-$150 for up to about 5 megapixels-it going to be more expensive the higher the megapixel and the features you want on the camera.

That depends of your plans with the camera. Are you looking for casual snapshots of family and friends and post it on the Web? A 3.2 to 5 MegaPixel (MP), will do the job. Don't pay more than $300 for this. Or perhaps you want larger prints blow-ups than 8x10", then go for models that have 8 to 10 MP. This models may go from $300 to $1,200 price range. For sharp pictures look for quality lens as Nikon, Canon, Fuji. But the best lenses for contrast and definition are Carl Zeiss. Look for it on Contax, Hasselblad, Sony and Kodak cameras. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

depends highly on the quality of the product. The cheapest digital camera i have seen is $20. (had no features and could only hold 10 photos - very poor quality photos) Would never even consider buying one of those.

You can usually get a good quality point and shoot camera from your local camera store for about $400-$600 with manual features (exposure, shutter speeds, aperture priority...)

Cheapest DSLR cameras I have seen was $800 (low end)
and usually range anywhere from $1000 - $3000 +
When buying a DSLR you should consider the cost of the lenses and other accessories such as spare batteries.

Hope this helps! :)

Price ranges from $150 to $1000s. Entry level to Digital SLR. See what digital cameras you can get at a glance http://www.geocities.com/lcming/cameras For starters look at either Canon Powershot series or Sony Cybershot series.

$15.00 for a keychain cam.
Consumer point & shoots: $50 through $300.
Advanced digicams $300 through $600
Digital SLR bodies $500 up to around $4000 or so
About $30,000 for a Hassy medium format digital back
I think there are commercial and scientific applications which use even more expensive equipment
The Hubble telescope
These are rough estimates.
