Has anyone ever heard of a skin rash caused by streptococci and it's called something like "ajit". I can't find anything out about it because I don't know how to spell it.

I am particularly interested in something called "A-jit". Has anyone ever heard of this specific condition? I have not spelt it correctly.

Streptococcal bacteria is what gives you sore throat. Why not see a doc if you're worried. They get paid enough - you may as well make them work for their money.

The skin rash that is associated with Strep throat is the Scarlet Fever rash. Strep throat is caused by Group A Streptococcal bacteria, which can cause other problems if not treated. These other problems can be anywhere from rheumatic fever, infection of your heart valves, or inflammation of your kidneys. Strep throat is very easy to diagnose and treat, so it would be in your best interest to see your doctor about it.

Illness caused by strep includes strep throat, strep pneumonia, scarlet fever, rheumatic fever (and rheumatic heart valve damage), glomerulonephritis, the skin disorder erysipelas, and PANDAS.

Group A streptococci produce several exotoxins, including erythrogenic toxins (pyrogenic exotoxins) and cytolytic toxins (streptolysins S and O).

Erythrogenic toxins cause the rash of scarlet fever (not directly but by enhancing acquired hypersensitivity to diverse streptococcal products).
