There are some that feel it is important to know these things so they can argue with geologists, scientists, historians, and a vast array of folks all in the name of Christianity. As for me personally, it is important to learn about the history of the world. The Bible is full of mystery and intrigue and the more that is revealed about this planet, the closer we get to realizing that God's word is the 100% truth. I am now curious about the age of the Grand Canyon.

because our culture and our government is plagued with multicultural/PC nonsense... This has made people weak minded and foolish. We have been so overtaken with pride we feel that no one has the right to offend us even if our belief takes away their liberties...now isn't that a bowl of hypocrit soup.
You know what...if i say "I love Jesus." and you say "I don't." gee wiz, shucks...you don't agree... IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL!!!!
However we have so few important things in our life we must make a fuss about everything. THe government needs to grow a set and tell people if they do not like geology or natural science or space exploration...well then don't like and shut your damn mouth and go do something else.. It is like a big brother...the more you react to it the worse a problem it becomes for you...

My, you're offended easily. I happen to agree with you - people should not suppress the truth to satisfy fundamentalists. That includes the fact that science teachers should talk about the problems with the theory of evolution (I'm not talking about teaching creationism - I'm talking about explaining the problems with evolution that anybody knowledgeable about evolution agrees exist) even though it offends the evolutionary fundamentalists.
In either case, it's wrong. People need all the facts to make decision.
Go ahead and click thumbs-down like I know you want to. It's one release for small minds and easier than thinking.

I think it's past time we quit worrying about what is going to offend who...there's no point in with holding what is true. Smaller truths about the age of certian rocks, even if absolutely verifiable, can never change the eternal truth that is God.....

No one can tell you the age of a rock anyway. They are just being honest about the "facts".
