Of course we should! Sooner or later we will HAVE to regardless of the ridiculous EU and the Human Rights Act! Surely common sense tells us as a small Island, how can we keep accepting the influx of people at the rates we are at the moment!! We need to get this Government OUT! A strong Government, willing to stand up for Britain.A Government willing to tell Europe,"get lost",a Government willing to close our borders. Then and only then, can we take stock of this country!! Once that is achieved, then and only then,we review Immigration policies. Immigration policies with strict limits/controls!!

Robin H.......... Why, when someone is concerned about their country, people like you scream racist!!! Is that your only argument.!"!

Yes we should . We should use a similar system to say Canada where your application is assessed against economic need . therefore if we were short of Doctors or potato pickers for example, the potential immigrants with that particular sick would be given priority until that skill shortage was rectified

Obviously, and by the means that we always used to use, effective immigration controls. When we actually wanted to control immigration, and when we had the power to do so, we did. Now, we don't want to, we are just giving the impression that we want to. The reason, the EU and the ridiculous Human Rights Act. This act, has removed all our rights to control our own borders. These days, it is called migration, not immigration, because they have given up all pretence that Britain is a seperate entity with its own borders. Did you ask this question, tongue in cheek?

'Robin H' response is typical of those who try to stifle debate by throwing the 'racist' word around.

BNP kiddies out and about again. On the subject of limit, and the only limit you seem to have, other than limited intelligence, is one of tolerence.

Go crawl back under the rock you came from, ugly little toad racist.

If anyone is desperate and silly enough to want to come to a country largely populated by racist bigots, let them in!

It's not those coming that I worry about, it's all the extremist idiots that are already here

Kallico. People generally worry about things like immigration when they are concerned about economic and social issues. In my view economics, in particular the so called free market and globalisation are to blame for the mass migration of people. Rampant capitalism creates this situation insofar as it makes life impossibly hard for people in developing countries.

So no, racism isn't my only argument. I just wish people would consider why anyone would migrate to a country where they know they may not be welcomed by everyone.

Take care.

we have open boarders for a reason to control them properly would be a good start , come out of the sham that is the EU and generally have a primeinister that is not controlled by the new world order that would pretty much do it , but even then this subject is massively vast.

Yes! We get too many as it is. Just cut off immigration and when we stop the invasion from our southern border, then we can look at it again.

Our law-makers must realize that the natural resources of our country, though quite vast, are not infinite. Somewhere, we must draw a line and say no to any increase in population. Or, do we want every sq inch of our country to become a Manhattan ?

Easy, deport at least 50% of them. (send all criminals and drug dealers back to their origin), any terrorist suspects too, and only allow "real "immigrants, genuine cases into the country. I mean, if you came from their countries, wouldn't you try to find a better life?
