I checked out for Hamza Yusuf. But they its not mentioned where her learned Arabic. but this is what I had about him
""became a Muslim in Santa Barbara, California, after having a near-death experience in a car accident which led him to read the Qur'an and eventually to convert to Islam""
But try this:
http://www.islamfortoday.com/schools.htm
http://www.islamicschool.net/
and try this list of schools:
http://www.msa-natl.org/resources/Schools.html
Good luck

There are good intensive programmes in Cairo, Tunisia, and Jordan (and Syria if you can get the visa) if you want to travel. If not, I'd check the local university and ask them for advice in your area. Most major cities have a Berlitz or other language school that would also teach Arabic. I take it through my employer (in NY).

In my city people can take Arabic (written) from a large mosque. Aside from that, SkyMall catalog has several learn at home language programs for travelers. These might be a better prospect since they are slanted toward conversational language rather than formal language.

Damascus, Syria and Beirut, Lebanon both have great language schools to teach Arabic to non speakers of the language. I don't have the exact adresses of those schools but with little research you can get them. The best of luck to both of you !

If you want one outside the US, try the American University in Cairo's Intensive Arabic Program - http://www.aucegypt.edu/academic/ali/.
If he wants to do it in the US, I'd reccoment Middlebury College's summer immersion program - http://www.middlebury.edu/academics/ls/arabic/.
I've heard good things about both programs.
