It's very good added to Lemon tea. The Japanes ginger served with sushi is pickled - you can buy that at any Asian grocer,
Not sure if boiling or pickling will retain all it's benefits tho.

There are actually several ways to eat ginger. You can get the root, grate it and add it to your dishes (be warned, don't use to much- it tends to be very strong fresh.), you could grate it and put it in a perculator or boil it and use the 'broth' as tea, you could slice it and pickle it- I don't know the recipe for this- it's an Asian thing... it comes with Sushi (the pink sliced stuff) and is very good. You could also slice it and add to your dishes, but again, be careful as to how much you add- it is very strong fresh. As to keeping it in your freezer- I don't know about that- I always keep it on the counter- if you put it in the fridge, it tends to rot quicker (much like potatoes.) And if you keep it on your counter, it will start to grow a bit, don't worry- just take the new growth off, if it is to small, just trash it- otherwise, you can use the new growth in your dishes as above. As for Ginger Tea, (home made) you will probably want to add a little sugar (or what ever sweetener you use), until you get used to the strong flavor of the ginger.

Here is some good medical information on ginger
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-ginger.html
Lemon-Ginger Applesauce
Finally, an applesauce that is actually exciting! Use a combination of apples for more depth of flavor. Mixing tart apples (such as Granny Smith), sweet apples (such as Golden Delicious) and sweet apples with some tang (such as McIntosh) gives a wonderful balance.
Makes 2 quarts
Ingredients:
12 large apples
1 cup water
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1/2 to 2/3 cup sugar (depending on sweetness desired)
2 teaspoons minced ginger
Preparation:
Peel and core apples. Coarsely chop and place in saucepan with water and lemon zest. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and gently boil for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add sugar and ginger and continue cooking 10 minutes.
Applesauce may be puréed. However, the texture of a slightly chunky applesauce seems more homemade and less commercial.

whenever your making anything that requires stirfrying or sauteing something, you can grate up maybe about a half a inch of ginger and add it in and sort of brown it like u would for onions,
as for recipes, just depending on what u want to eat, try this, go to www.food.com, and then in the search box for recipes, type in ginger, u should get a lot of different options. Hope this helps!

ingesting raw ginger ( yet not product containing ginger ) isn't undesirable for you or the toddler. in case you devour small volume of ginger on a daily basis it would want to help you lot in being pregnant and help to eliminating the extra warmth from the body also.
