Honestly, I think it depends on how much love is there. I've been with guys before and it stopped after 3-5 months. But my current boyfriend and I still act like we did when we first started dating. We've been together for over a year now.

On the other hand, my brother and his wife have been together for 6 years and they have been married for 1 year. There's died down really soon, but they are fine with it. My boyfriend actually asks me when we see them "Babe, we aren't going to be like that when we get married are we? I wanna stay as that couple that everone is jealous of"

So, it just depends on your schedules, the love thats there, and really the person. Not everyone is a hopeless romantic.

That is a very large misconception that the cuddles and romance die out. Well it's not a misconception if you decide to do nothing in the relationship in order to keep that level of affection alive. When people say relationship is hard work, that's what they are talking about. Not only do you have to go to work, keep your life in order but now you have this other person you are involved with and it's easy and actually "fun" at first to show each other affection and do things for each other to show each other that you care and so on but when the novelty of a new relationship wears off people tend to get lazy and take each other for granted. Think of it like a new car, all the time you want it clean, washed, oil changed and all that good stuff, right? Well after a while all the things you did to take care of it instead of being something you wanted to do now becomes a chore. Same thing for relationships. Sometimes you decide, "Oh I'm just too tired, I'll wash the car next week." and as time goes on you become accustomed to neglecting the very thing you used to be so excited about taking care of. Well when you do that in a relationship is when the "Cuddles" stage starts to go away and you get that feeling of "getting used to each other" starts to set in. If you continue down that path and pay too much attention to other things in your life and don't keep love, closeness and all those other good things close to your heart in your relationship than it will continue to degrade

our lovey dovey stuff lasted for a while. we have been together for over a year now and we still do the cuddling and lovey dovey stuff just not as much as we used to. i would say ours died down 5 or 6 months into our relationship.

It shouldn't be that way.
The lovey-dovey stuff is what keeps two intimate people from moving apart.
It's all part of that "work" they talk about in a relationship.

In a doomed relationship, 9 months to a year.

2 years, cuddling still! Love my man.

Only when you let it. I've been with my man for about 3 years and we are still cuddley and lovey dovey, even after we got married. I think it just got to be more...

Probably after the first year. I still get cuddling, but I have to request it. I've been with my man for 3+ years

The thing is, you will notice that they died off...years after they die off. Id say they go on a small break until kids come...then once the first kid is 1 they die off. However, it wont be noticed til years down the road...you will say, wow when did it die off?

I'd say in the summer time. As soon as winter rolls around, the cuddling picks back up--especially if you forget to pay your bills.

You can't just determine something like that. It depends on how much you like it. I still cuddle and love on my man and the same with him. We have been together for 7 years. You got to have the effection in your relationship or what do you really have?? Muha!
