Ack! Vinegar is an acid, which will only make your reflux worse!!!

Go to a doctor and make sure it is simple acid reflux, rather than treating yourself.
In the meantime, don't lay down after eating. Raise the head of your bed a few inches while sleeping. Stay away from alcohol and caffeine, including chocolate. Eat frequent small meals, not just 3 large ones.

apple cider vinegar???? Way to bring on the HEARTBURN. Forget THAT! How do you know you have acid reflux? How do you know it's not heartburn/ It could be from stress, anxiety, etc. Get yourself a roll of cherry Rolaids at the drugstore. Then tell an adult that you need to see the doctor about this prob...say just what you said in your Yahoo Q. That was an excellent description. Don't worry, it's really common. They have all kinds of chewy, chewABLE, liquid, etc. medicines these days. You may just need what's over the counter and not a prescription. Pls. take care of it ASAP. Acid is bad to have hanging around your body--except in your stomach, where it's natural. And listen, I know how you feel. Lately I've been chomping on Tums several times a day. Good luck.

The most important thing is to reduce the acid in your diet. Sounds obvious, but think especially about what you put on your stomach when it is empty. If the answer is coffee, you are killing your poor tummy! This can get serious, because the reflux will cause damage to your esophagus. I mean like real damage you don't want to think about. So if giving up coffee and being a little careful with the amount of acid and spicy foods you eat, especially when your tummy is empty is not enough, it's time to see a doctor and get the prescription stuff going.

But be forewarned that those things will then create their own feedback mechanisms, and you still need to reduce the amount of acid in your diet to the point where you can give up the prescription. Chalk it up to getting older if you must, but it's not good to do any prescription drug for an indefinite period if it's not absolutely necessary.

Acid reflux is a muscular weakness disease, not an acid problem. However, since there are no standard treatments to address the problem directly, acid blocking medications are commonly used to treat the problem. In homeopathy, an agent is used that will address internalized anger and muscular weakness. If the lower esophageal sphincter ring is not too badly damaged or enlarged, then the homeopathic preparation should resolve the problem between 80-100%.

If it's really severe, you may need to go talk to your doctor and make sure you haven't gotten esophageal erosion (which can lead to cancer).

I would recommend in the short term cutting out anything spicy, cutting out alcohol, coffee, vinegar based foods (ketsup, mustard, etc), eating a piece of bread when it occurs (to absorb some of the stomach acid), and picking up some Priolsec, Zantac, or Pepcid.

unless you have a bacteri called helicobacter causing your symptoms ther eis no cure only meds to treat the symptoms. The best thing to do is adjust your eating habits, stop overeating, lose some weight, avoid eating before bedtime, avoid caffeine, sodas, greasy/spicy foods.

That would be the worst thing I can think of. Have a physician Rx Nexium or other drug.
