...my home. The colors I have right now in all rooms except the kids is mauve and maroon. Any suggestions for different colors?

Since you seem to like that color pallette why not change your colors to Hunter Green and Tans. You can accent with mauves and maroons. Good Luck

Neutral wall coloring is what I like then I can splash colour with accesories. As the season pass you change the accesories and still match. Right now I have brown trim and light creamy/grey walls. I alternate the accesories between orange for fall, white for winter and baby blue for spring & summer.

I have bit of modern furniture but I think this can work for any other style.

start with a neutral pallette (browns and creams) then find a certain fabric you like (rug, curtain, throw blanket, comforter, etc.)and use those colors to decorate the rest of the room. Also, if you need help finding color inspiration, look in your closet. Colors you put on yourself you'll typically like to surround yourself with.
