Just remember that when you go into the darker shades, it is often difficult to go lighter again, without first having to bleach all that dark hair out.
Why don't you first experiment with the look using a wash in colour? One that is not permanent or even semi-permanent.

Well if you cant let your hair be and breathe, then just dont dye it too far from the shade you have now go like 3 shades darker and do a 3 shade lighter lowlight that way it gives your hair more tones with out being too different and depending upon what shade of light brown you have you may be able to throw in some darker blonde. If you only dye the underpart becareful it might make you look like a cousin to the skunk depending how you wear it.

Google "hair coloring" under the images option and you can see pics of women. You might want to try a few different search componets to get a different result.

Just make sure the tones go together, it could work really well. It would look a bit like the sun had lightened it and make it look more interesting. I'd go for it, sounds good.

Its certainly exceptionally cool in case you have long hair like me, (decrease back length) you will desire to do blonde on the backside.
