She does not need to be a part of your bridal party. There is no ettiquette faux pas in not including a soon-to-be sister-in-law. You already have a larger bridal party at six, so there is no room for her. She should not be offened.
However, you may want to find a "job" for her on the wedding day. Perhaps the gift table attendant or guest book attendant. (And do remember that she must be invited to the rehearsal dinner regardless.)

This is tricky. I have two sisters in law and the one got to walk down the aisle with her husband because he was the best man. The other one helped with the wedding planning but I did not invite her to be a bridesmaid because we just did the best man and maid of honor. I think she was hurt by it; she always asked to do more because she was not included in the wedding party. It was awkward but you need to do what's best. We purposely kept our bridal party small to avoid problems like that...but they happen no matter what.

I had 2 sister in laws and was in neither wedding. You already have 6, that is a lot. You are the bride, it is your day, do what you want. Just make sure that your husband to be doesn't have a problem with it.

I heard so many horror stories of girls putting friends into their wedding party and never speaking to them again afterwards so I avoided the whole mess and only did family in the wedding party. I figure, no matter what I'll always have them in my lives and I may not with my friends. Plus, it was much easier to be blunt with them about what I wanted and expected since they're family. It made us much closer since we barely knew each other beforehand.

You are the Bride and it's your decision as to who should be asked to participate in your wedding day. When my brother got married, his wife picked a bunch of her friends to be bridesmaids but asked me to do one of the readings. It was nice to be included in their special day but I never "expected" or thought I had a "right" to be in the bridal party. It's all about you !!!! Enjoy your special day.

Well it isnt required but it would be nice and contribute to family harmony. Usually if the groom only has one sister she is included in the wedding party.

No she does not have to be I'm having my wedding this year and my sister-in-law will no be in my wedding because she is not one of my friends I mean just because your going to be family doesnt mean you have to include her in everything she can sit in the audience and look nice like everyone else but on the other hand if you want her to then theres no harm in it but me I just want my close friend to be in my wedding.

wow, you must be having a huge wedding! I don't think it's a problem if you don't have her in your wedding party, you don't know if she will for sure be around during that time and if she and your brother broke it off, well there you would be trying to fill the spot when you should be enjoying the fun of it all.

Well my sis in law to be is in mine, but i didn't feel like she had to be. Ask your fiance what he thinks about it, and maybe go from there. Are you close to her at all? If so, I would say yes cuz your on some level of closeness and shes family, but if not really its questionable if you should or not....I say go have a talk! good luck!

As long as your future husband doesn't get hurt by it , your fine. Just give them something else important to do. Also have them help you at the church or where ever the ceremony is like running around and helping you get ready . It will help the two of you get closer
