Technically, no. Water contains hydrogen and oxygen. Tapwater, on the other hand, has enough mineral content to constitute a weak electrolyte. Many athletes shun sports drinks in favor of tapwater as electrolyte of choice.

There is one water..that is yummy...and contains electolytes.called*.SMARTWATER*. It is a good alternative to powerade and gatorade because there is no sugar/calories. I get mine at TARGET stores.
