It could mean the results show that you need further treatment or possibly medication or change in lifestyle , so your doctor may want to present those treatments to you.

It could mean the test came back negative, so he wants to do different or additional tests in order to diagnose your condition/complaint.

It could be his policy to call you back to the office for results. Some offices have you sign a permission to leave lab results on an answering machine or voice mail, or permission to give the results to other family members.

Good luck, whatever the reason.

Usually when lab tests are normal, the doctor's associates will call you and let you know that everything came back normal.

When something is abnormal, the doctor will usually have you come in to discuss the results.

Don't worry too much about it, it may be that you have a level that is slightly elevated and could be attributed to many factors.

Most doctors don't give lab results over the phone. Very, Very few will. Mostly I think they want to charge you another office fee. LOL

Nothing. Most doctors do this for two reasons. One to explain the results fully and answer any questions, and to order more tests if needed.

And so they can get more money by having you come in, again. Can we say Ka-Ching?

My wager is it may well be counted on place of work technique and the guy who calls. normally lab is of or touching directly to the blood artwork and not the diagnostic sorting out/technique(s). i've got been to a brilliant sort of medical doctors in my time and have constantly had "lab outcomes" consult from blood or urine analysis, on no account the diagnostics. most of the time they call returned putting forward "lab outcomes" with regard to my blood artwork. good success!

It doesn't mean that you have something terrible wrong with you. It could mean that the tests were negative and he wants to talk to you about maybe having another test or seeing a specialist.

Usually it means they have found something out of the ordinary, & they want to put you on some kind of medicine to fix the problem. I hate it when that happens, as it tells me I,m not as healthy as I thought I was.

not always bad, some results just have to be given in person for confidentiality reasons.
