I have a friend that absolutely hates chocolate. He even goes as far as to compare it to dog crap. So I am just seeing if there is anybody else in the world that doesnt like chocolate. reply if you hate chocolate and why, and if you like chocolate then just say something to my friend who doesnt like it, cause I will show him all the replies. Thanks

I would want to know what kind of chocolate he's eating. I am a Cocophile (not a chocoholic) and I think Hershey bars are good for only one thing - s'mores. Otherwise . . . .yeah, they're dog poo.

Try imported chocolate, it's better quality and has less paraffin (you can tell how much paraffin is in a bar by how much sticks to your top molars.) I find anything less than semi-sweet chocolate is too sugary (white chocolate doesn't have any coco at all in it).

In high quality dark chocolates they're more like wines than candies. You admire the scent, take a small bit and let it melt in your mouth. Many have fruity, berry characteristics (raspberry and currant). Some are more reminiscent of tea. Some are earthy. Personally I swear I can tell the difference between Venezuelan and Ivory Coast chocolate.

And as far as additives go (and I know the vast majority of people will think this is heresy) - avoid peanuts. The chocolate improves the peanuts, but the peanuts do nothing for the chocolate. The best chocolate with add-ins that I've ever had is the Voseges' Ceylon bar. Something about red pepper just brings out the fruity tasting part of the chocolate.

On the other hand if you don't like it, you don't like it. I don't like butterscotch.

I used to hate chocolate too. Until, my friend from Germany sent me some and I have no idea what the brand was but it was the best thing I have ever eaten. My husband said it was bc it was expensive chocolate and not cheap stuff. You can tell how good the quality of the chocolate is by the sound it makes when you snap it in half. I also ate an orange chocolate twig that was a garnish in a chocolate martini and it was heavenly.

I don't like chocolate. Here's why.

Long story short, one Summer vacation, my grandmother brought me a 7 lbs bag of m&m's that was supposed to last at least a week - I was a choco fiend then.

I sat in front of the TV that day watching everything the afternoon would offer from the Munsters to 6 Million Dollar Man to Wonder Woman and ATE THE WHOLE BAG OF M&M'S!!!

I was sick for three days and since then have been cured of my chocoholicness. My family doesn't get it. Neither do my friends.

I'm with your friend on this now... I don't think it's crap, but I don't llike it. I do, however LOVE the smell of warm chocolate cake or brownies, or fresh cocoa.

Chocolate can have almost as much caffeine as a can pop. It makes you feel really awesome, and can even wake you up better than coffee!

i live for chocolate. it's one of the best foods on earth. maybe he is missing some taste receptors in his brain. chocolate also stimulates some opiate receptors. if you take an opiate antagonist (blocker) prior to eating chocolate, you will dislike the taste. maybe his opiate receptors are different somehow.
