We only talk on the phone because he is a away at school right now. And it's our only means of communication. but when we are on the phone after the 1st five minutes everything goes dead.

There is nothging wrong with you or your boyfriend and the relationship cannot be judged by a phone call. Adults as well as teens sometimes have very little to say by phone. It has to do with the impersonality of the faceless words. It also has a lot to do with the uncomfortable pauses where physical actions cannot take their place. For instance in a face to face conversation there is some quiet time where a hug, holding hands, a loving glance, a kiss, etc. will add significance to a relationship. During a phone call it is so superfitial in a way. Many people can talk for hours without really ever saying something. What is so great about that?

Find a new boyfriend, Not to be mean. You dont want ot waste time when you have nothing to talk about, true love u cant stop talking and you dont want ot get off the phone with that person. If hes at school and its only been a month, date other people till you have a full time of commitment and time for each other. YOu dont want to be bored.

It seems from your question you are like you are the director of a play with the role of "serious boyfriend" to fill and you've cast this guy and now you don't understand why he's not playing the part right. You need to tone it down, BIG TIME. Very vew people in life will act the way you expect them to once you start dating them. That's the fun and the frustration of the whole thing!

If he is like me, he is bad at communicating, especially on the phone. Stimulate conversation by telling him about the highlights of your day, any near future plans you have, goals you want to accomplish or vacations you want to plan, maybe some things you're interested in buying. Talk about world events, something funny someone told you that day, ask him if he likes any new music that has come out, theres gotta be something to talk about.

If you've only been together for a month and your phone call can't even last 5 minutes, then your not with the right person. Thats pretty sad if you ask me.
