I had a misdemeanor assault in 2003 and I was wondering if it ever comes off my record without sealing it?

Traffic misdemeanors go off your traffic history, generally in seven years. Other misdemeanors do not go off your criminal history but you can go back to court after a period of time and get permission to enter a not guilty plea and have the case shown as dismissed so you have no conviction on your record. The arrest will still be there, however, but it will show as arrest and dismissal with no conviction. To get the arrest off your record is pretty much impossible in most cases.

Well.. if you requested Court Supervision at your trial.. and did not commit a crime within a year.. then the record will be expunged. If you did not request Court Supervision - get an attorney next time!!

Nope. It is a permanent part of your criminal record. You can attempt to have it expunged by an attorney, but you have to have a really good reason for it to be done.

Talk to an attorny, they give free consultation usually. Just make sure they arnt going to take you on a ride and then you find out that it was not expunged.
