Yes, this happens, and not just in the dogs category. I asked a perfectly legit wedding etiquette question the other day and got slammed left and right, called everything from selfish to an alcoholic.
Some people just amuse themselves by hiding behind net anonymity and letting their nasty sides reign free. Just report them and get on with your day. *hugs*

Once yes I did. I posted a question about breeding Labradors and everybody jumped all over me saying I should rescue etc. I agree with them most of the time. However I am going to be showing my dogs and would never breed till they were multiple BIS winners. That's just how I feel it should be. Nobody should be out breeding their backyard mutt or even purebred unless the dog has proved themselves in the show ring. But people will be people and not see the difference. So whatever, I deleted the question that way they all lost their points. (I think they lose the points don't they?) Even if they didn't then nobody got the ten.

There are some people who go rather overboard in being protective of the welfare of animals. And unfortunately, there are also young trolls that enjoy baiting them by describing rather gruesome scenarios, usually where the only thing would be to get the animal to a vet ASAP. So we lose some serious-minded questions and some good answers because these people sometimes get good folks so discouraged they go away. Please don't let them do that. We are doing the best we can.
Take a look at Community Guidelines. We are really trying to make this as fair as possible, but there's really no category for something that it just plain rude, without anything more specific you can put your finger on. "Insults" is the closest, and if you think it applies, please do report abuse. Hit the little red flag and let Yahoo know that someone is out of line.

I see it every time I look on Yahoo. I don't post questions here because of it. When I answer questions here, I get a thumbs down (especially if it involves people wanted to breed their pets, or the pet has accidental gotten pregnant). I try to be as helpful as I can, but I have learned that as long as you are rude to the poor person asking the question, you get MAJOR thumbs up.
I asked questions about sick rats that I purchased, and got major rudeness because I refused to take the sick rat (store sold sick rats) to the vet and pay $80 a piece for 2 rats (long story, won't go into it). I took the rats back to the store, and got a guinea pig.
Anyway, yes I have encountered these people.
Edit:
See told YA!

yep a few times. I had a question regarding my dog being in heat, and i had a couple saying my dog was a mutt, what was I doing not having her fixed yet, too many of her breed already, etc, etc. But don forgot they dont know every single little fact about you either, you just put the main details in. The people that were rude to me didnt know my past, stuff like she was really sick and I could nt get her fixed yet and so on.. Plus for one that was really rude I reported them. for bad and rude language!! So just ignore them , they dont know you whole story. And if its bad enough report them

I never ask questions on this site, but in all the questions that I've answered, I've seen a lot of people like that. If it's nothing but insulting the person asking the question, then I report them as abusive, because that's against the rules.

Absolutely. Everyone who posts a question always gets the kind of rude/nasty answer which you have described, regardless of how generic a question it is.
Please try to ignore these people. All they really are, are little people who feel that if they try to make themselves a big person, they can hurt someone else with their vile comment(s).
Have a lovely rest of the day. Bright Blessings.

I haven't but I have read this "wonderful" persons very incite. Apparently his mommy never taught him /her that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Not to mention she forgot to tell him it's better to be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and confirm it. Just ignore that person they aren't even worth wasting your 2 points to post this question.

That would be called a troll. They're just looking to stir the pot. Just think about what kind of sad life a person has to have to live their life like that and go on. :)
