I have a "registration number" but can't find a good website that lists owners of the aircraft.

The first letter of the Registration Number designates the country of origin.

If that Registration Number begins with the letter "N" it is based in the United States and will be listed here . http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_inquiry.asp

If it begins with a different letter, you will need some other source though.

http://www.landings.com will allow you to search database for owners of aircraft. Just know that you may not be able to get a definite owner, as a lot of people and companies LLC or the like to own the aircraft for liability purposes.

Go out to his airplane and start to vandalize it, usually attracts owners...

In reality I use Google daily for this purpose in the USA.
