if I upload 50 zip files, each of them abt 2.5 MB in size, if people download them, will the bandwith consumed be 125 MB (2.5x50)? because im afraid my webhosters will put my site on the back burner because I may be exceeding the monthly bandwith allocation. If this is not true, then whats the bandwith size for that much of files with that much of size downloaded that many times?

Yes you'd be correct its 2.5x50 as your bandwith, i would say go to www.google.com and type in " Free file upload "

a lot of sites allow you to upload up to 500mb of any type of files, with unlimited bandwith, enjoy!

you got it exactly right, pal. and that is PER download...
unfortunately, there is no helping it, 125 meg will always be 125 meg... no matter how small you split it. i guess with the use of better packers you might be able to reduce size to maybe 110 meg... but i dont see that helping you much :)
you could perhaps distribute the files over various webhosts, and store only the actual site on the main host, for reduced bandwith usage with every individual host.
Or find a host with a bigger bandwith allowance.

By uploading the 50 files, you would have already consumed 125 MBs of your monthly bandwidth; as the monthly bandwidth doesn't depend only on the amount of data downloaded, the amount of data uploaded is counted as well

Every file downloaded will also consume 2.5 MB off your bandwidth..
