erm... yeah...
it started when the Wright brothers realised that lamina flow over a convex upper profile and flat under profile produced lift upwards due to differences in air pressure.

Since then there were a couple of wars which helped development somewhat. Jet engines were invented which increased speeds and fuel economy.

Currently aviation is both civil and military and the subject of much concern for carbon dioxide emissions.

The basic wing design in terms of profile although Concorde, Spitfire, Starfighter, Viggen, Tornado show an insight into the array of different wings that have been designed.

over the years with exception of the jet engine aviation has not developed in line with electrical systems we enjoy indeed live by without it the world would cease to function the same cant be said for aviation however ask again in two decades and big advances will have taken place with a different fuel system no doubt and say 2 hours to 0z
