Is it possible to be sinless. I know that it is not but for some reason I keep badgering myself for the sins that I commit. I know that I am to repent and never return but what is the point of repenting if I haven't completely broken the chain yet?

Well it depends on the severity of the sin. If its a serious sin then it should never be repeated. Minor sins are different. Some sins we will never totally escape in our present condition. All we can do is try to work on them and pray for forgiveness.

Repentence is a sign of your heart. It shows your true and honest desire to follow God's will. It also demenstrates an awareness for good and evil. One who has such heart will be purified by Jesus' blood.

Why do you badger yourself? Read Romans 6. The first 6-15 verses or so. You see when you became a Christian you "died" or "buried" the old self and was raised to new life. As symbolic in water immersion. So spiritually whenever you sin you are going back, and digging up that old rotting, disgusting corpse that you left behind when you decided to follow Christ. That is why you feel bad, because your heart as been changed, you have been given the Holy Spirit. And your Spirit knows that there is a better life for you.

I dont think anyone can be sinless. When you repent don't beat yourself up if you commit sin again. Just try not to commit the same sin over and over. Remember, once is a mistake and more than that becomes a habit. Keep the faith.

Are you badgering yourself, is the devil condemning you, or is the Holy Spirit convicting you.? You can rightly answer this question, do not say that you cannot. We all stumble many times in many ways, but ultimately it is the mercy of God that upholds us. Repentance is not an event, it is a lifestyle. "How many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me?" The answer, 70 times 7, is not meant to be a finalized number but to demonstrate the long suffering and forbearance of our God who abundantly pardons those who repent, even those who need to repent of the same thing from time to time. Repentance is the attitude of our heart, an inner posture that both grieves of our sin and turns anew to follow Him-it is not a promise to never do something specific again. Repentance is the gift of God, we receive it from Him. If He is convicting you, receive it. If it is the devil or your own self, you need to learn to trust in Him who raises the dead to life.

No, I don't think it's possible to be sinless as sin is defined in the Bible. Jesus said that just lusting "in your heart" is as bad as the real thing, and I assume this applies to all the other sins you do "in you heart" too.

And goodness knows I kill people "in my heart" at least twice a day. ;)

But I'm Wiccan and I just don't worry about it.

Jesus said to sin no more, but we are still humans, therefore we are going to sin.
Jesus also said not to feel guilty about the sins we commit, because we are covered by his sacrifice. We have no guilt.

This just means your years of indoctrination and psychological guilt are working as effectively as they should. I'm not a sinner. That's something you've probably been told you are to get you to follow and obey.
Before you can truly own a person's mind, you have to make them think lowly of themselves. Whether you're a religious recruit, cult recruit, or just an abused spouse, your mind thinking bad of itself is how they own you.

Your sins have already been forgiven. They were paid for when Jesus died on the cross.
