It depends on the circumstances, but most of the time I would say it is too short of a time to really know a person well enough to make a true commitment. Think about waiting awhile.

WHOA! You should be dating for two YEARS before you consider marriage. Not two months. That's WAY too fast. You're asking for trouble. How long should you be enaged? I guess about six months, if you were already dating for two years. But if you're already engaged, I guess you could stretch the engagement to two years, or at least one year. Or you could just back out and tell the guy that everything is moving too fast. Do it gently, but definitely do it. And make sure he knows that you really intend to marry him but it's just too fast for you and you feel like you don't know him well enough. Have a nice day!

way to short, in 2 months you dont know everything bout the person, unless you just open up and spill it all, which i dont even if you did, you 2 still dont know each other as well as you would in bout a year

if you only wanna get engaged because you think its the only real way to just snatch him, make sure hes yours, or cuase youve done just bout everything already and whats next? think it thru how well do you really know him?

you dont even know a person in that period of time, believe me, i've been with my husband for 8.5 years and i am still learning more about him everyday.

you're still in the honeymoon period of dating. you havent even let your true selves out yet.

how does he like his coffee? does he snore? does he want kids, do you? does he floss? whats his shoe size?
just think about the things you know and dont know. can you really see yourself spending the rest of your life with this person? it's a HUGE decision that is taken much to lightly these days.

Usually, but I should think it would depend on the people involved and the situation. Ask someone close to you what they think. Not strangers on the internet.
