Congrats on the new baby. I work full time too and have a 1 year old.
It's SO hard to get in shape with little ones. But here's what I do:
Three times a week I go for a 1/2-hour run. Running is the biggest bang for your buck exercise-wise; burns the most calories; and you will feel GREAT.
Right after work I throw some dinner in the oven (something that needs to cook for about 45 mins) toss the kid in the baby jogger or give her to daddy, and I leave...even when I don't really want to, even when I'm tired, even when I've got 30 million other things to do....if I have to walk because I'm not feeling it, I walk. If I'm feeling good I go a little further. I do this all year round - and I live in MN - it's going to be 19 degrees on saturday, I'm still going running outside.
It's got to be a priority. You have to buy in to the fact that exercise is not only going to help you lose weight but that you will feel better because of it.
You can also do this in the morning - get up 1/2 before your normal time and go for a walk.

While on a walk, lunge with the stroller for 10 or so steps, walk some, do some lunges. Also while walking, turn sideways holding the stroller with one hand and squat as you move sideways (make sure knees don't go over your toes). Another stoller/walking exercise is kicking back for 8-10 steps, walk some and repeat. These are probably easier on a track, but can be done in the neighborhood. I know, I know, you might get wierd looks, but those lunges are great.
If in front of the TV, you can get a weight or household item of your desired weight (5 or 8 lb?) and stand up with feet shoulder width apart. Hold the object in front of you with arms outstretched, twist to one side, center, then twist to the other side. Maybe try 3 sets with 8-10 reps each time or modify that.
A hard one is to get into the push up position (the regular kind -from your toes or modified from your knees) and try to keep arms and back straight as a board (don't let your butt sink down or poke up) for a full minute.
If you can get one of those exercise balls (birthing balls) that would be great. You can sit on it when you watch TV, while you are at the computer, or even at work. It helps your core muscles. I am sure there are little exercises like lifting each leg out straight one at a time, rocking the pelvis forward, etc that you can do while at a computer. You can also do sit ups on those things and tons of other stuff. Your kids wil probably enjoy it too!
Whatever you choose, you should try and get some good cardio in by swimming, running, jumping jacks, or something that really gets your heart rate up several times a week at least. Make sure you ease into the cardio (1 day a week then two, etc) because it is good for your heart and you'll be more likely to stick with it if you don't shock your system.
Find something you like, if possible. This will also help you stick with it.

I have to say that for me, exercise at home is more likely to happen in the morning before the kids get up rather than after they go to bed. I am too exhausted after a full day at work, and then doing dinner and getting the kids ready for bed at night to even THINK about getting on that treadmill. I would recommend getting several different exercise DVD's to see what exercise fits your personality or mood. From Pilates, to Turbo Jam, if you get several different ones, you are less likely to burn-out

Walking is great exercise and can be done with kids. Put them in a stroller and take them along. Everyone will benefit. Of course you can also do ab crunches, etc to help tighten the tummy. Good Luck.
