I'm being surrounded by zombies and having to wait on my friend to count something, and I've got a girl following me.

You see many things in a day. Dreaming is the mind's natural way of organising these things. Also the mind often plays out situations that may put you in danger/stress to figure out how to react if you were to find yourself in such a situation (but I doubt this is what is happening with this particular dream)

Many factors play into interpreting a dream. Colours, background (house, field, woods etc),did you know the girl? even what you were wearing could play an important part in what it overall means. Other things such as what you watched on TV that day (anything to do with zombies, counting or little girls following people?) if you have had the dream or a similar one before-recurring dreams, how vividly you remembered the dream and weather you woke up as the dream ended or if you felt that you woke up BEFORE the dream ended.
Since I do not claim to be an expert on interpreting dreams so I suggest that you google 'Dream Interpreter' and try a few sites, first interpreting the individual elements of the dream by themselves then putting what each element means together with the rest.

No one can tell you what your dreams mean. Google "lucid dreaming" if you are serious about deciphering how your brain manifests thoughts during REM.

Dreams are largely a by-product of the brain refreshing itself after a day of activity. You'll have more vivid dreams if you do something that's more engaging mentally (lots of studying, test taking, etc). You continue to think about what happened during the day, and you think about what's going on within the dream itself. Each thought is represented by something else within your dream. The only person that can truly know what your dream means is you.

Again, if you're serious, look up lucid dreaming. It will enable you to see what you're dreaming and how things form based on the thoughts you have. (For instance, thinking about how all countries experience racism/sexism, my dream interpreted this as a bunch of tools spread on a map of the world. Cool stuff!)
