I work in a small firm and I am saving money to get a master degree. The office is based of a three girl’s team and we are happy. To save money, I have been picking up and eating the leftovers from my colleagues’ discarded lunch bags. If they became aware of it, would they mind?

They'd probably laugh at you behind your back for being so cheap & disgusting.

You are kidding right? Just wondering if you are actually gnawing on food that has been put in the trash, from which others have already eaten. Are you pulling out the half eaten cup of yogurt and if you are do you at least go for a fresh spoon?

Colds, flu, and other virus and bacterial infections can exist for a short (or some long) period of time outside of the human body. Not only is it just weird to be eating out of the trash unless you really have to but are you aware you could be picking up their germs too?

If you are starving go to a church or community organization to get some healthy food. Sumaritin (spelling is wrong I believe *horrible speller*) house will help.

Be honest, don`t wait for this to happen.
You`ve asked your question in the ``etiquette`` section. It is not proper to go through other`s discarded lunch bags :)
You need to eat.. skipping on meals to save money does not make sense !! walk, forget the latte, bargain shop.. etc... there are alot more healthy ways to save ....

If you're truly hungry, I am sure ur friends wouldn't mind, but we're talking about 5-10 bucks a week for brown bagging, surely you can afford this. You should try to save in other areas.

If the bags are discarded, they are abandoned property. I think it's pretty gross to eat others' leftovers, but I understand why you are doing it.
Maybe you could buy instant noodles, or cook casseroles at home and bring your own leftovers to work.
I don't know if your coworkers would mind or not.

I'm sure they won't mind, but they will think you are some kind of nut or weirdo. Why not eat your own lunch like sandwiches or muffins.

I don't think I would mind because I threw it away but I would think you were kinda gross, and maybe out of pity pack you a lunch too.
